A few weeks ago I purchased a USB port blocker from Amazon.
My goal was to prevent people from plugging a malicious device into my USB ports when I’m away from my laptop.
The blocker comes with a bold claim.
Last night I needed to access one of my USB ports, but I was not able to find the key 🙀🙀🙀.
The first thing that popped into my head is to use my iPhone Lightning cable as a key 🤔.
When I purchased this blocker, I was hoping that it would take an attacker some tinkering to remove. In this case, I was able to defeat this thing in seconds using something that many people carry around with them: A Lightning cable.
Finally, don’t damage your USB ports, don’t believe everything you read, or buy into snake oil.
